I got my police scanner a couple of ays ago and have been having lots of fun with it, listening to the police, the fire departments, heck I even get the security guards at the college I used to work for And, of course I plugged in the frequencies for the local bus service. Even on the radio they seem like a bunch of dimwits So tell me, what is the last toy you bought for yourself and why did you buy it?

If you'd stay away from the jewelry section and the the after Christmas sales stuff you might find a toy you'd like to have

I haven't bought a toy in a long time now. I have always wanted a police scanner. I have never even priced one. Are they expensive? The local fire department and the local police department is not to far from me and every time they have an emergency and start the sirens I hear them even late at night and early morning.

They can usually be found on Ebay for around a hundred bucks or so. If you do get one, make sure it is programmable, as those old ones with the crystals were a pain and the crystals were expensive. With the programmable one you just type in the frequency numbers and you're done

My latest and most fun toy is the wii and the wii fit! I love it and it causes me to the exercise that I need so badly. I had heard a bit about it and never could believe that we could get so much exercise. We got one, and remind you we are in our 50's, for ourselves for Christmas and of course, for the kids and grandkids and we are having a blast! It is really working out those muscles that I wasn't aware I even had. Enjoy your police scanner and I hope you enjoy it as much as I am my wii fit and wii! God bless you!

That seems to be the problem with game systems. Like computers, there is always a newer system that everyone wants to make things for and older systems seem to get left out

Well the last toy I bought for myself was this computer, why? My girls of course they thought I needed one and we can all use messenger and not the telephone.I do have a scanner but I have had it for quit sometime,it can be very educationalif the cops can find where they are goingI laugh so hard at them sometime trying to figure out where they need to be.This town is not that big and almost everyone has been here their whole lives you would think they would know where their going. You have a great night.

Years ago, this place was a small town and I know the cops knew where they were going because they always seemed to find me Now, there are so many new houses and subdivisions they do get lost and they have to call the local dispatcher for directions. Yes, it can be humorous at times. A computer is always a great toy to buy

A Wii is a better choice, I think. Unless your hubby wants to hog the toy all for himself

Hi fwidman, I am sure you are having a whale of a time playing and listening to your new toy, I got myself a webcam and speaker for my LapTop, I can see my friend but and I can hear her but she cannot hear me so I will have to go buy a mic for my computer so she can hear me, lol what a carrry on and I had to download yahoo messenger, bear in mind I don't what I'm doing here as I have only been learned how to use the computer about seven months ago and I have no idea how to go about things here. The latest toy i bought myself was a mobile phone.. It's a second hand phone(motorola) that i bought at a local store in the south.. it isn't a high tech phone but it's okay as long as it can make phone calls and send text messages..=)

That is all I use my mobile phone for, texts and the occasional phone call. I have a computer to play games with and I don't need a camera on my phone, I'd probably spend too much money just taking pictures of things I thought were cute

Nothing exciting like that. I bought a digital camera. I need it so I can upload pictures of the things I make. I am putting together a web site and do want to have good pictures. I still like my 35mm Minolta Camera the best. I have so much more control with it. It needs new batteries though.

Yep, a web site needs to have good pictures, especially of things that you make Minolta makes a great camera, I used to have one of those but I think the ex-wife has it now.

THe last kind of toy I bought for myself that I think fwidman is talking about was my massager pad with several functions. Very comfy when my back is bothering me. The heat option is not fast enough, though.
