I have been reading novels since I was in the 5th grade(now 32 years old). I am very passionate about reading. I would love to try my hand at writing a book. I have all these great ideas for writing a book, but I don't have any idea how to go about putting it on paper. Should I just start writing and let the words flow or not even try. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I know EXACTLY what you're going through! I love reading novels, too, and have tried my hand at starting to write them several times. My best advice is to flesh out your ideas first, and then start writing the plot. I have found better luck when doing it that way. I'd also suggest reading Walter Mosley's book, This Year You Write Your Novel. It's a very short book, quick and to the point. Then, if you're up to it, participate in the NaNoWriMo.org writing challenge. That's a great way to get you WRITING, rather than thinking about getting started. :-) I hope this helps!

It should be there and, if not, they should be able to special order it for you because it's published with Little Brown and distributed through Ingrahm.

Why not try it out. If you have loads of ideas, won't it be good to pen them down? I mean i know what you mean. Because at times i too have loads of ideas flashing in my head but i'm just too lazy to start writing from scratch and building climax and all. Well, i'd suggest, once you have a thought or an idea, just put them down in point form on paper. Take it step by step. And i'm sure before you know it, you'd have more or less the story plot out.
