Now i thought i had read it all but this takes the cookie. This is real sad. A seventeen year old from Ohio shoots his mother and father in the head. The mother dies and his father is seriously injured because they took his Halo 3 from him. If that isn't crazy or what.

Yes, i heard about it many times, some said in USA have 2-3 times this accidential happens long ago, same as you told, the different is just the game, the old issue was Duke Nukem 3D. Some says if we see violence contiguesly , our blod will be cold and stress tension will increase. That's why the one who played the most violence and gore platform had the high emotions, easy to mad and do frenzy thing. So all the parents had to be as close as their boy/daughter, if they play to much violent game, try to balance it. Give him/her fun/soft game, so it will reduce the emotional tension. Kid emotions are not stable, so we have to control it before it's to late.

I guess this is what happens when a person becomes too obsessed over one thing. I read this article when it came out and i gotta say...wow, can't believe that a person would do that over a simple matter like that. I love video games, but I think a person should have enough common sense to know when things are going to far. In this case, the kid didn't know how far he was going. Really is sad, doubtful he'll be tried as a minor. Now he'll never get his Halo 3, that's for sure.

i feel sorry for what happened. games do influence our way of thinking and it varies from person to person that how much they influence us, but parents should be cautious and make sure that children are not spending too much time in the gaming world... but it's unbelievable that some kids become violent enough to kill

That's what I call a messed up kid or very bad parenting. Either way, I think there was probably underlying issues and the media is using the game as an excuse. It is very sad either way.

Wow... I know that some video games can influence your mind and the way you think ,but I had no idea that it would make someone kill their own parents... I mean its just a game if you lose it just wait don't kill them... I think that they had a good reason to take it away if it was causing to act like that.

This boy is like that other kid in the news about two months ago who ran away from home because his mother took away his call of duty 4: modern warfare game. It is sad what lengths kids will go to these days just to play video games. I am also a gamer and it hurts when something like this happens.

There is no video game created that would have me snap and kill my family because I can't play it. I don't think it was just the video game. That little boy was already disturbed and when he found out he couldn't play Halo it took him over the age..now, I am not justifying the situation but they need to watch him for a little while to see if he is crazy..

Kids are really messed up these days. Talk about overreacting. Obviously, that kid had some issues and shouldn't have been playing Halo in the first place. It is pretty sad and pathetic what our society is turning into.

This is really crazy. It's scary to think of all the things that some teenagers are ready to do for something, like a video game. It's true that I might have yelled and been mad, but I wouldn't have shot them over this. And now, this kid's life is pretty much finished, as he's going to be considered a criminal by society for the rest of his life. And although I imagine that he's going to be sentenced to prison, even when he comes out after 'paying' for his crime in prison, he's also going to be somewhat paying even when he's not in prison. I hope this makes sense to you guys.

Oh wow, now that is crazy. I cannot believe that. I can never understand how a child could kill their parents in the first place. That really takes the cake there.

I read about that yesterday. Yeah, it is really sad and horrible. There definitely has to be some mental issues with that kid. I can not imagine shooting anyone over a video game, much less my own parents.

Thats so sad but i think the parents could have gone about it completely different. FIrst of all if the kid is capable of that he would obviously show some signs of severe behaviour problems and the parents should have figured that giving him a violent game would not be the best thing. Im not saying his aactions were alright at all but i think a little bit more thinking was required

This kid must have been messed up already if he would do that just because they took Halo away from him, I play Xbox pretty regularly and of all the people I've talked to i couldnt imagine anyone being obsessed enough to kill someone over it. He's going to need a LOT of therapy

this pisses me off because this is another excuse they are going to use agaisnt video games they should always check if the child is mentally stable because it's not the games fault like a knife it is the one controlling it that makes it do what is does
