If you had neighbors or people in your community that were illegal aliens and the local immigration office was offering rewards for information to lead to deportation would you turn them in? What would make you decide to other than the money? How would this hurt/better your neighborhood? Thanks for thinking!!

You pose a a very good, "what if" question, and it is hard to answer! On one hand, if I suspected that they were involved in any criminal activity, terrorist activity or shyster activity.....yes, I would! But if they acted as exemplary citizens, and contributed to the community....did not suck from Fed/Prov. programs I think that I would mind my own business...and let the powers that be figure it out! So, you see, I am a bit of a fence sitter! Thanks!

Aww! Yes, looks as if we share some of the same views actually. I agree if they are there to better themselves and/or their families then I think that that is what America is all about. I do also think that after some time they should began the process to become citizens. Thanks for the in-put!

An addendum that I must add to this...is the sorry state of Canada's Immigration Policy, an immigrant (until becoming a citizen) receiveds $1981.00 per month and is able to apply for additional hardship benefits of $589.00 ..that's $2570.00 per month! A retired resident citizen of Canada, whom has lived and worked here all his/her life, contributed to the Canada Pension plan all his/her life (possibly even served in the Armed Forces receives LESS than $1200.00 per month! Our Pension Plan is growing broke, at the benefit of the immigrants! Seems to me there are huge inequities here! Cheers!
