Ok, this is nasty but I have a BAD habit of bitting my nails. I have had tips on for the last 9 months and it has helped me keep my fingers out of my mouth. But as soon as the tips come off its like my fingers are drawn to my mouth. I have to get rid of the tips bc they are making my nails extremely to thin and weak. SO my question is How do I brake such a nasy habit?

Convince yourself that you want a pretty nice hand. I know that nail biting makes the fingers look horrible - I have friends who do this a lot and I slap his hand out of his mouth when I catch him. It's nasty. It's also unhealthful. You might not realize that you're biting your fingernails right after you touched something really nasty. But seriously...it looks horrible. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I think nail biting is very much an addiction like any other! I have never bitten my nails but I have friends who do. I think it is purely a will power thing. My friends have tried... putting over the counter remedies on their nails, mustard on or anything they dislike the taste of. Carrying a nail file around so that you can file jagged bits instead of biting may help. Wearing gloves.I have even heard that you should repeat ten times before bed "I will not bite my nails!". Sorry I can't be of more use to you! Good luck x
