do you prefer short-haired or long-haired cats?

hi all!
most of us own pets, right? for some, pets are a valuable member of the family that can bring fun and relaxation into the house. and since everyone is unique, we all have various choices for pets. some own dogs. some have iguanas. some have hamsters. some own other animals. and of course, some of us have cats.
cats have various breeds. and they have various lengths of fur. there are short-haired (or short-furred) cats such as tabbies and siamese. and there are long-haired (or long-furred) such as persians.
in my case, i like short-haired cats better because they look a lot cuter. not to mention easier to take care of and with less mess! =)
how about you guys? if you are to have a cat, which would you prefer? a long-haired one or a short-haired one?

I don't know that have a preference, but all my cats are short-haired.

I prefer a short hair cat. I have two short haired cats, one is shaved right now. You read that right. My blue Gray Russian Eygptian Mau mix had to be shaved. My husband rescued a kitten and brought her home and she was invested with fur mites better known as walking dandruff. We tried everything and the vet finally said shave him and then treat him for the mites. He was not happy but we finally got rid of his mites. Even though he is short haired you would not believe the layers of fur he had. It was like shearing a sheep. I prefer short haired cats.
I do have 3 long haired cats, only one is more Persian like than the other 2, they are more Maine Coone than Persian-ish, tho I honestly think Oliver is less than Solo.
I have had Oliver since he was 7 days old, and Solo I've had since, well, I payed for his c-section to get him born. Rio I rescued on Easter night in 2003. She is the only (more or less) adult long hair I have.
I have also placed a couple of long haired cats in new homes, and I think 2 or 3 of the bottle baby kittens from 06 were going to be long haired too, I KNOW one was. But their mother is a longhaired feral I've seen at the apartment complex my client lives at.
so, 22 out of the 25 cats are short haired.

i prefer both because my favorite pet is cat.i don't whether it has long or short hair,it has its own beauty. long haired cat when combed andmakeuped looks good .similarly short haired has its own beauty.
