Hi, We have heard lots of fake Phones, Bags from China. But are they fake SLR-Camera in the market? I heard from my friend, the fake ones looks exactly the same and costs slightly cheaper but anything goes wrong, there will be no warranty from the manufacturer. I'm saying this because the price of camera are really cheaper in asia(Hongkong or Singapore).Anyone knows it?

I have never heard of fake DSLR but I guess anything can be duplicated. I would not knowingly buy a fake camera as a slight deterioration in quality can greatly affect your pictures. The lenses are very important and I would trust a brand name before some knockoff made out of plastic.

I don't know about fake cameras or knock of cameras, but there are cheaper DSLRs you can purchase that aren't covered by warranties. These are known as "gray market" cameras. These are often European cameras sold in the US. They are made by the same manufacturer and are pretty much identical in every way, except for the warranty. The reason they are cheaper is that they're imported from dealers in other countries with low taxes, whereas local authorized dealers have higher taxes which makes the camera more expensive. Because they aren't sold by an authorized dealer, there is no warranty. So if your camera breaks, it's not covered. So if you want to save money by purchasing a grey market DSLR, don't worry. You're not buying a lower quality product. You're not buying a fake product or a cheaply made product. The only downside is you're taking a risk if something were to happen to your camera.
