Life's voice purrs past and then into my ear's embrace as mine, a lis'ner's calling must step back to chase. As certain sound and certain as sound captures grace, it sanctifies my claim upon this time and place. But no possessive will have I to own this life: Just small wonder wanting, not wont, of tempered strife, just long enough to know the song of love so blithe lest, at last, cut off are we - deaf by nature's knife.
