What to do with the Vickie's of the world? I own my own business, it is a retail shop (going bad with the economy), we are very open minded and try to be as generous as we can. We have a homeless woman that comes around alot, we do not send her away and try to be as helpful as possible, one night before Christmas I was here alone and she came in to use the restroom, than she just sat in the chair and started crying, I tried to talk to her and see if there was anything I could do to help her, I got just tears. No I did not call the police cause who knows what they would have done with her. Later I found out she is on file with Mental health, so I call and left a message with the lady I was given the information to. I worry that she will freeze to death or starve, we do what we can but as business is slow we can not do much. Please give your opinion on the subject. Where do these people go, how do they get help. I think that its so sad that she's homeless! And its really nice that you 'accomodate' her whenever you can. As far as I know, there are either charities or food halls where the homeless can go, I think. I dont know about America, but this is what we have in the UK. If I was in your position, I would make her presence know to a respective charity, if there is one in your area, and if things become a bit out-of-hand, then you can inform your local police station, and make sure they are aware of the charitys presence so that they can help the woman in coalition.
