For those of you who have 'caller I.D., watch for a
number to come up on your I.D. 1-662-690-2283 with the
initials of f.c.s.i. It might also end with 2281
or 2280.
the recorded message goes something like: "Hi this is
Jim/James/whomever - we've being trying to reach you on
an important matter. Please call -- - and an 800
number is given. When you don't respond, in a few
weeks, they'll call again.
We finally got about the 5th or 6th call in the past 3
weeks the other night, and the recorded message
said if we didn't contact them, they'd have to:
"Take it to the next level."
I put the number into a Google search, and it is a bill
collection agency out of northern Mississippi.
I found some types of mesage forums, and one lady said
she called them and they told her that she was delinquent
on a bill, and they could help her take care of it.
When they asked her for her Social Security number, she
said that a 'flag went up.'
I have gone to the F.C.C. governmental site, and turned
in a complaint on them.
If you've received one of these calls, what state are
you in? Help warn folks.
I am in Oklahoma.

Thanks for the information. Now this would only alarm someone to think they have to give out that information if they were actually late on their bills. But yes being asked for your Social Security number instead of the account number would be a red flag for anyone.

And right you are. I would never give my Soc.
Sec. number out to anyone on the phone, or over
the internet.
Have a great week.
