Do you get paid in us dollars?and other mylot questions.

I am fairly new to mylot and have so many unanswered questions.They dont seem to have a section for question and answers or FAQ as on most other sites,like ,when you do get paid ,is it in us dollars? how do you post pictures? What do you actually get paid for on mylot? When are you supposed to pick the best response from a discussion you have submitted? What does it mean ,when it says you are 5364 out of 22345? How come some people have different coloured stars next to their name? any help to help me understand all this would be great! :)
