I am a bicolana. Born in Albay, studied elementary and high school there but studied college in Manila. I have always wanted to change my life which I could not have realized if I stayed in bicol until my grown up days. There are lots of beautiful places in the bicol region: we have the mt. mayon, among others. Greeneries are found everywhere because of its fertile land. People are peaceloving and God-fearing. But we have the bad elements: the leftists, the typhoons (all names), and some volcanic eruptions. I got married in Manila and started my own family. My parents, brothers and sisters and most of our relatives are still there. I visit bicol every 5 or 6 years. I would have opted to stay there after my retirement had it not for the NPAs and other abusive townspeople posing as NPAs so they can extort or ask a whole cow or a whole pig for their meal. mareetee http://mareetee.blogspot.com
