ManCity amazingly handed Hamburg £19million for Nigel de Jong despite knowing he would cost just £2.3m at the end of the season.City’s pursuit of the 24-year-old has made them a laughing stock as De Jong had a clause in his Hamburg contract stating he would be available for just £2.3m this summer. So if the Eastlands had waited four months they could have bagged him for a staggering £16.7m less. de jong is a good player, but is he worth spending 19.3 million oh him. they nearly purchased him 9 times of his actually price. many good players in the epl are better and available cheaper than him. well, i cant understand there transfer policy. City are just showing how little regard they have for money. this deal is ridiculous. Hamburg have hit a jackpot, they are luck, how can they refuse the offers like that. they bought him for 1 million from ajax in 2006.

As one of my friends says: "Stupidity costs!". This kind of people, so stupid, deserve to be tricked and to lose money! I strongly doubt they needed de Jong so desperately right now. They do need players, because they are playing lame football, but there are many players much better and cheaper than that.
