messing up computer?

do you think that limewire messes up your computer? Has anyone else had any problems with it? We have had limewire for years on many different computers and it always seems like it screws up the computer and makes it go really slow, most of the time freezing it up. When we delete Limewire off of the computer are computer automatically starts working right again but then when we put it back on there again it does the same thing. does this happen to anyone else and what have you done to help it. i really enjoy this website and enjoy being able to listen to music from it but I don't want to take the chance of it ruining my computer, let me know

Limewire might make me lag a bit when downloading or playing songs, but that's about as bad as it gets. I think a lot of the lag comes from the fact that if you use limewire, if any other user searches for a song that you have, it will take it from your library. This causes a lot of traffic on your connection if you have a lot of songs (or a slow connection). If you disconnect the internet while using limewire (not a very good option) or just move the song files to another player (itunes, windows media player) it will probably go a lot smoother.
