What is your career/profession?

If you're still in college/university, what are you studying? If you're out in the real world, what is it you do? What got you on the path that you are currently on? In other words, why are you in the said profession? If you weren't doing what you are currently doing, what other career out there would you choose? Me? I am a veterinary technician. I have always wanted to work with animals since I was younger. A veterinarian is something that always interested me, but I did not want to go to school for 6-8 years to become one. It wasn't until about two years ago when I really knew I wanted to become a vet tech. I never knew such a field even existed. I knew there were veternarian's but I didn't know they had assistants and what not. So I did a tour of the school I just recently graduated from. I knew from that point on it was what I wanted to do. I honestly could not imagine working any other job other than with animals. I was never happy doing anything else. Though I guess with my skills, it would only be appropriate to become like a receptionist or administrative assistant if I were not working with animals. Although I think if animals didn't work out, I would try the human medical field. What about you?

Hi there! I am currently in college taking up Bachelor of Elementary Education Major in English. I used to dream of being a journalist someday but reality kicked in and made me realize that I have to choose a more stable profession and I love kids and teaching since I was a kid myself so it wasn't really hard for me to settle for a teaching profession.
