I just watched the video for this song yesterday, also heard the song for the first time, and I loved it! I could relate to it so much. The video is beautiful!! I think this is one of her best videos ever! Go to youtube.com do a search on If I were a boy by Beyonce, watch the video then leave a comment here saying what did you think of it, and if you can relate to it.

I didn't hear about that, but either way most of singers don't write their own lyrics, what's the problem with that? You have to have a good voice and be writer so people can appreciate your music? I don't think so.

she really do stole that song, BC jean wrote that song for her self as her debut single as a singer song writer, but beyonce decided to buy the song behind her back and release it as her single before BC get to release it

I just watched the video and it´s really beautiful and deep. I have been listening the song but have been so busy I didn´t take time to really pain attention to the lyrics. It´s really true and beautiful. I wish people were touched by songs like that and could change their way of acting and thinking.

this song is ok nothing to write home about. I did watch it on youtube.
And I think it is a nice song. I have to agree the video is beautiful.

The music video is great and the song's lyrics has full of meaning. It makes men realize how to respect women and not to take them for granted.

I understand the message of the song.. In my point of view, it's probably directed to women who are unfortunately taken for granted. I think this song is for women who deserve to be treated better..

Yes it is directed to women, but the main point is she's singing about how if she were a boy she would know how to treat a girl. But I love the video not just the song, how she's pretending to be the guy, and how she does exactly what most guys do, like the part where he's calling her she looks at the phone and turns it off, or how she keeps flirting with the other guy, then saying it's ok to flirt because it's not like she's sleeping with the guy. And some guys really think it's ok to do those things, they don't understand how much that hurts, and how it makes us feel.
i don't really get the point as my english is not that good.

Oh, your just a boy you don't understand =) But look for the one that says "If I were a girl", it's a guy that sings it and it's kind of funny. Check it out you might like it.

I have seen this music video and its really good. I usually like Beyonce songs and this was no exception. Thanks for suggesting I watch it on youtube I hadnt thought about that. I will have to check that out later on tomorrow.

Thank you for commenting, and yes it is a great video, one of my favorites at the moment, I wish youtube would let me embed it on my profile, but they disable embedding on all the videos for this song. I hate when that happens! I mean how they expect to get publicity when they block the videos!
