can i connect a wifi modem to pc ?

hi guys , i am irfan and i want to know whether i can connect an wifi modem to pc. please help i dont have any idea about wifi modem, i even dont know whether there is a wifi modem available or not. in my area there is a wifi network to which i connect my lapatop and use it, can i do the same with my pc. please help me out and give me the information about the modem if you know any. i dont want a modem for which i need to pay rent each month, i want to buy it and use it for free. please reply soon........

I think you should Ibe able to connect your desktop to a WiFi Network using modem. I think you should be able to use the Wifi wireless modem. You can purchase a USB wireless modem so that u can use it on desktop also.

i want to use net like i do on laptop by just putting on the wifi button, i dont want to pay for using wifi each month, so what is the name of machine or appliance by which i can get wifi in my comp.

I don't know if I understood your question correctly. But if your pc does not have internal wifi installed (like many laptops have) you have to buy a wifi adapter which is like a usb stick. Then you can connect to your wifi modem or to another wireless network available in your area.

Yes, you can connect a wifi modem to your PC but you will need to instal the modem's software first. Once this is done, the software will show you the available networks and you can pick to connet to any of them :)

that means i dont have to pay each month , just have to pay for the wifi modem thats it. please tell me where can i get the modem......
