I live with a roommate, I can sleep whenever the light is on or off. But when I want to sleep I usually turn off the light then she would use her tablelamp. If not I would cover my eyes with a pillow. For me, It is better to sleep in dark more comfortable. How about you?

I can sleep whether the light is on or off if I'm tired enough. If I'm tossing and turning trying to get to sleep I have to cover my eyes with something if I ever hope to fall asleep. We sleep with a night light on for a little one who sometimes get up in the night. I have insomnia pretty bad these days and almost always have to cover my eyes from the night light lately.

When I really want to sleep, whether the lights are on or off doesn't matter. But normally we switch off the lights when we're sleeping in the night. We have an ionizer which also doubles as a small night lamp in our room. But before we had that, no lights was fine for us

hi lovesummer...i definitely prefer the dark to sleep in at night. i can take a nap during the daylight but for a good comfortable sleep i prefer the dark. however it is not completely dark in my room because electrical devices have little red or green lights on them. they don't light up the room but i see a tiny light here and there. and when they don't work because one is moved out of sight, not plugged in or the power's out i'm actually uncomfortable. it gives me some security to see the red light from the isobar, or the green light from my, video game or phone. i guess they are my adult and high-tech security blanket.

I find it quite hard to sleep properly if the light is on. In fact I even struggle to sleep during the day even if I am really tired because of the daylight. I sleep best in complete darkness and complete quietness. When I was younger it was a different story though and I only slept if there was some light! I remember my mum bought me children's safety night light when I was really young. It would let off a really gentle glow when plugged into a socket and as a result I would feel less scared

I can sleep either way. I've worked days, and I've worked nights. I prefer working nights. I always had trouble getting to sleep at night. Not a bit of trouble during the day.

Actually i can sleep whether its on or off. But i would rather off the lights everytime i sleep to lower electricity cost. And i agree that its comfortable to sleep when it is dark.

I usually switch off the lights when I sleep, but I hate pitch darkness. There is enough street light to cast a faint glow in my room, so Im happy. I can sleep with the lights on also to some extent. I dont have the habit of covering my eyes, but my husband always covers his eyes and sleeps. Once he is asleep, the cover is out on the bed. Pitch darkness makes me feel Ive gone blind, and that starts suffocating me.

When I was a child living with my family in the countryside,it was completely dark outside at night. Therefore,I 'd like to go to bed with the light on.However, today ,living in the city ,because of too many lights everywhere, when I am tired ,I'd like to create an envirement which is completely dark.

I can't sleep with the lights off. Maybe with rather dimmed lights, that's ok. So when I was in the middle of sleeping time, then suddenly the lights went off, I woke up, searching for lights. I find it terrible to be in the darkness.

Hi lovesummer, Yes I always turn-off the lights when I got to sleep. For some safety reasons, its also safer to sleep with less appliances connected to electricity. But most of all, I prefer to sleep in the dark coz I usually do something naughty before I sleep, you know what I mean..lol. And its would be safer to be in the dark while doing it coz somebody might see you...lol..

When I was a child, i can't sleep when the lights are off. I couldn't breathe. I outgrew it. Now, I could sleep with either the lights on or off.
