I am not afraid of the dark but I do not care for it a whole lot. I always have the Tv on in my room at night I guess I am kinda of scared I put my alarm clock on my tv that way I have some light in my bedroom before I go to bed. I am not scared but I like light better than night for sure. Nice discussion and happy mylotting again to you, new friend! :)

no problem at all with regular places where i am in, momtrying2makeit. the lights can go out and have it pitch black. i can always grope my way about familiar places. but what if i am out there somewhere unfamiliar and it is pitch black darkness? oh, my. that is definitely something that needs imagining.

good that you don't believe in supernatural stuff. there's rarely anyone who does not belive in super natural stuff. i really appreciate it. i haven't experienced anything super natural yet but still i belive in it. have a nice day

I am absolutely terrified of the dark. I always have been. I hate leaving the house unless I have a bunch of people around. I can handle being home alone with the lights out watching a scary movie--ironic ain't it? I think I am afraid of what I can't see. I hate that because there are nights where I would love to go out and sit on the back porch and watch the fireflies, but just as soon as I do, I start panicking!

I'm not afraid of the dark. As a child I had to have a light on in my room before I could go to sleep because the darkness made me uneasy. Now that I am an adult, I prefer the darkness and quiet at night when I sleep. It can be so peaceful just to sit and listen the quiet when its dark.

I love the dark, but I'm very aware of the things in it . For example, when I'm tucked in my own house safe and sound and I go to bed at night, I love the dark, pitch black, no light whatsoever is a very soothing feeling for me when I'm trying to sleep. It's like being cocooned in a soft nothingness. We live out in the country though and I often walk between my Moms place or my sisters place and mine in the dark....it's a nice little walk too. We have coyotes, cougars and bears out here. I haven't met one in the dark yet but I know that it's always possible. In town I don't mind walking in the dark either, I'm just very aware of my surroundings, whose around, do they look like they're just going about their business or like they're looking for a target.

It would depend on where you are. At home it would not frighten me. I'm mostly a city person, and in the city, where there are people about, where it's never completely dark anyway, I would not be afraid. I think in a rural area, away from the city lights and the traffic, darkness would take on a completely different character. When I worked at a food delivery place, I always got a lift home with one of the drivers there. Once he had a last minute stop to make at an address that was within a warehouse compound in an industrial area. It was pitch dark and looked deserted. He called the customer on his mobile phone but by the time the heavy metal gate creaked open, we were both so spooked this man called me by his daughter's name. Obviously, your own imagination can fill any darkness with all sorts of threats.

walking in the dark in a familiar place is fine with me. like when the lights are out at home, i don't see much problem with it save for the fear that i bang on something and break some precious items. but, this is not so when i am out somewhere in unfamiliar places. moreso, when this happens in the open field. what will happen is, i will have to be very cautious as i do not have the slightest idea as to what lies around me. it will be scaringly difficult. yes, it will be, definitely.

i'm quite to acknowledge this... but yes.. i'm afraid. i am unwilling to walk into an unknown room / place pitch dark. However, i love to sleep in pitch darkness. But when i sleep, i'd lie really quiet in my bed and close my eyes shut. Before you know it, i'm asleep. But if i'm awake and have to walk through darkness, NO WAY. It's spooky and eerie and i might trip on something i dont' see!! or i might see something i'm not suppose to see.. My good friend knows it and she's very gracious to me about it.

I'm afraid of the dark, whether it's outdoors or indoors. If i were to have to sleep alone at night i make sure i'm really sleepy before i go to bed. I don't often go out at night because it feels unsafe. Dark places make a good hiding place heh. I know why some people feel like they're spinning when in the dark. Because if it's dark enough, there's no focal point to train the eye on so it feels like floating in mid-air, or in an empty space. Although i'm scared of the dark i don't have any lights on when i sleep as i can't sleep well with a light somewhere.

yeah me too! I will even fear for putting my room lights off,. and I also scare when I enter dark rooms to switch on the lights. I always link darkness with ghosts and evil spirits. I will wonder at times, whether I can walk alone in lamp-less streets.. Oh my God, I can never do that!

I'm not afraid of the dark, because only of our thoughts that makes us afraid. That I fear precisely will hit things when walking in the dark. Have a nice day.
