Moving-Leaving your family behind & starting a new life with your spouse/S.O.?

Has anyone ever come across the challenge of leaving their hometown to start a new life with your spouse/significant other? I find even the thought of having to leave my family, friends and current job behind extremely heart aching - but at the same time I want to start a family of my own and want to do what's best for my husband and I. I do want to live a better life....better quality life. Financially it seems like it could be much easier, but leaving my immediate family (what's left of them) is just extremely hard. How do you get that "push" that will-power and strength to do what is best for YOU, and YOUR life, and not have the guilt come with it?

I guess it's understood that when people decided to marry, they wanted to start a family of their own. They become one body. If you haven't been away from your family, try settling in a place close to your parents so you could at least pay them a visit once in a while.

This is what I'd love to be able to do. To at least stay within a decent driving distance!
