If you could travel anywhere in Africa, where would it be?

Africa as a landscape has always fascinated me. I find it attractive despite the fact it is poor and most of it civilization is very uneducated. If I had a chance to travel to Africa for, let's say a month, I would go to jungles and see the wild life.

Kenya and South Africa used to be the tourists destinations in those days. While they still retain some of their past allures, other African countries have learnt from their tourism success stories to develop and promote their own tourist attractions. One of such countries is Nigeria. There are a good number of tourist destinations in Nigeria. They include the Obudu Cattle Ranch, located in the South-South geo-political zone, and noted for its peculiar temperate climate and beautiful natural sceneries. Yankari Games Reserve, located in the northern part of the country, is an old tourist site, full of wild animals and served by an assortment of comfortable lodging facilities. We have the National Park, Ikogosi Warm Springs and the Oshun Shrine in the South- West, while the other parts also boast of beautiful and historic tourist locations as well. What of the virgin city of Abuja? Fantastic! Abuja is the new administrative capital of Nigeria. She is an emerging beauty to behold. The Nigerian people are friendly and accommodating. The climate is friendly, too, being the typical tropical one. The cost of living here has been particularly very low for a foreign tourist since the Naira devaluation of September 1986. Currently, the Naira exchanges for about US$140. If one considers the fact that about 70% of Nigerians live on less than $1/day, one can then see why a foreign tourist will stay here almost free! Lindery, you are welcome to Nigeria.

Oh, sorry! I had meant to say that a dollar exchanges for 140 Naira, or that 1 Naira commands only US$0.0071428 - far less than a cent.

I want to go to Egypt and have the chance to see the magnificent Pyramids in Giza, all of them and the Tombs of the Kings also the Nile River. Aside from that I would like to take a safari tour in the wild and vast plains of Africa. I think that is the last frontier. Wild life roam free there.

I have just come home from a trip to South Africa which I enjoyed very much indeed. I took my toddler son to Cape Town and the Garden Route. We stayed in friendly guest houses and met many local people. We went around a township and saw the poor people and their community. We went to the beach where there a penguins and on a boat trip to see seals. We went on a safari for a few hours and my son loved seeing the lions in particular. Some of the people are very rich and many of the people are really poor. We had such an excellent time and found the people really kind as well as helpful. I have been to Tunisia, Kenya and the Seychelles. Now I have been to South Africa as well. I would love to go to Zambia to see the Victoria Falls and to Madagascar to see the lemurs. I would be great to go to Egypt to see all the historical sites.
