Do you think we are going back into another Depression?

With the economy and everything the way that it is now, is it possible to go back to times similar to The Great Depression? I was discussing this with my fiance last night and we both realized that, Ya it is a possibility. What would you do if this happened? Where would we all go, would we stay in our homes or would we be forced to move if we are still paying for it? Kat

After reading recently the number of people that have one been laid-off by major corporations, companies that have closed then look at the numbers that occurred during the first depression. Yes, we are in a depression by market standards and by economical situations. Currently there are millions of people out of work. This is not good. We are all struggling to maintain the best possible home positions we can and of course this is affecting every industry around the globe. It was stated by several market analysts that we are actually in a global depression, when the market hit rock bottom before the holidays, it actually affected the world not just the U.S. In many aspects we will have to see what the Government and our new president decide to do. They have supposedly helped many big corporations by giving them all that money, what about the small business owners and the crunch they are currently feeling. Why not start at the bottom and work your way up? Sorry. I'll get off my soap box now.

I agree, they should have started at the bottom. Global depression isn't something they can fix overnight but, if they at least get their heads straight and start at the right spot it might be over sooner rather than later. Thanks for the response. :) and feel free to get on your soapbox again, I like the way you phrased everything. Kat
