I love my garden...

I sat out in my garden this morning, the breeze felt amazing. The grass is growing in after some much needed rain. It's amazing how the ground can just dry up. The sun has been unforgiving for quite some time. Forecasters say no rain until March, but I think nature has another idea in mind. The weather's been telling a different story lately. Out in the country you can see the weather developing, and although forecasters get paid to take their guesses, I think ours are much accurate. The tomato plants are holding on, and what truly surprised us are the green pepper plants. They are bushy, busy with bees, and full of life. The squash is also doing quite well. What's in your garden? Which plants have survived the toughest droughts? And what works for those pesty flee beetles?? Thanks :)

Sorry you are not allowed to talk about how nice it is. :) I'm freezing, just sitting in my office looking out into my snow filled yard, wishing for spring. It's about 20 below and has been for more than a week. Well we had one day it went up to -5 but I was still cold. I am planning my 2009 garden now so I will be ready when spring does show up, about 3 months from now. I hope you get some rain, we don't usually have a problem with rain, we just wait until the weekends. Ha, that was a joke. But seriously we don't have long periods between rains here in Canada on the east coast. I can send you some snow and ice if you would like.

You're up norht and I'm down south. Have fun planning your garden! With the drought we've been having it was a tough season for the plants, but they are making it still. Nothing will hold nature back. I am about to step out and take a walk around. Please keep the snow, I am not winter friendly. hehehe! If it makes you feel any better, winters here are pretty tough as well. Keep warm!
