Easter props

Hi all, I have been searching high and low to find a prop for my photography. The prop in question is a broken egg shell that a baby/small todler can sit in. So I found some on line but times are hard and I just don't have the amount of dollars they require! So I am a bit crafty and decided I can make this, how hard can it be?... Then after I start thinking about it, it suddenly is not as easy as I thought:( It needs to be strong enough to lay a baby in, so paper mache is out surely? Plaster of paris, well that is also a bit fragile I would be worried the egg really would crack once the baby/todler was in it. Then I thought polystyrene but I'm not sure how to do this, either carving from a block or using panals? I will put a white fleece inside it for comfort so I don't have to stress to much over the inside finish. So do any of you crafty folk out there have any cracking ideas? Or should I just bight the bullet and shell out? (Sorry about the bad puns, just couldn't help myself hehe) I look forward to your advice x

Thanks Riyasam, if only I could crochet, I can to a fashion but nothing on a big scale like the egg, would take me a month of sundays hehe
