What will you do when you catch the suspicious thieves?

This noon ,one of my close friends told me that he had lost his dearest companion,which surprised and worried me very much.I asked him what had happened to him.He told me that his cellphone had been stolen by two thieves when waiting the traffic lights.To my surprise,he had caught the suspicious thieves.But ,before I aproved what he had done,he added that he had let them go because of no evidence.Then, friends ,what will you do when you meet with such affairs ?Thanks for your sharing!

I feel sorry about your friend's case. If I am your friend, I would try not to let the thieves go and call for policemen immediately. But I know this is difficult, as your friend said there's no evidence, and there were two thieves while your friend only have himself at his side. I really couldn't predict what would happen if I try struggling with the thieves. So finally, if I couldn't make the thieves to wait until the policemen to arrive, I guess I'll also let them go... There's statement in Chinese which means: to loss money for preventing something bad from happening, right?
