So annoying!

OK - I'm going to have a bit of a vent. Two weeks ago I got a letter telling me I had an appointment at the health clinic today. So I arranged an afternoon off work and turned up at the health clinic at 3.30 (the appointment was at 3.35) only to be met by blank faces. The women behind the reception (who were lovely, by the way, and not at fault) informed me that the doctor I was supposed to be seeing was on holiday. They rang their office and spoke to someone and asked what was going on. They were told that my appointment was next Monday. Luckily I had taken my letter in and the receptionist informed the person on the phone that the letter clearly stated the 2nd January. I then spoke to the person on the phone who told me that because of the snow, the doctor "wouldn't have turned up today anyway". Thanks for that!! So I ended up losing a days pay (I am a supply teacher - I don't work I don't get paid, and there was no work for this morning) and complete wasted my time. I understand if an appointment gets cancelled or rearranged, but it would be nice to be told! Rant over - sorry about that - I just needed to get it off my chest!

hi callw...that is a lousy deal. especially when you don't get paid. i've had such injustice before with a manager and lost a days wage when i had it coming. i know the financial loss and unfairness of it. i guess it's good that you didn't have a car accident on the way there or back. bright side? hopefully that won't happen again.

P.S. i've also had car work done on my car while i waited that i found out later didn't have to be done and it cost me $200. so that was a loss of time on a saturday and i paid them for ripping me off and robbing me part of my weekend.

That is very annoying! Did you complain? I get my dad to deal wth my car because I worry about being ripped off like that.

i stopped going there and wrote the manager a letter telling him why. i had given them a lot of business but it didn't seem to matter to them. i never got a reply of any kind. i was even more disappointed in them. they were good to me for years and then had me right where they wanted. they started taking advantage of me. tisk tisk.
