How do you communicate effectively?

Quite often we hear people say that somebody is capable, but no good in communication, or he is a good husband, but never tells about his thoughts, or I never know what my daughter is thinking about.... Communication needs the ability to express your ideas, observations and feelings clearly, with focus, in good pace, and in good humour. But it is more than skills of speaking and writing. It also needs the correct attitude to listen and to understand, and it needs your respect to others ideas, and opinions. Thus, you will be able to know what the others are responding and commenting on your words. What is more, you also hear others sharing with you their observations and feelings. By and by you will extend your power of influence, which is nowadays a unique gift and potential qualification for successful career.
