We have a cat in our neighbourhood she does'nt belong to any home but she is accepted at 3 homes , My home , my granma's and our immediate neighbour .She is welcome to homes and she does,nt demand any food from us as she is an expert hunter of mice, lizards and birds...She is about 8 years old and have a no no nonsense attitude but she does'nt bite or scratch. She has 2 month old kitten and it is about him i am worried. The mother stopped feeding him and he has established himself as my shadow .Right now he is sleeping under my desk.I know nothing about catfood and there is none available in our local shops.i want to know what to feed him and what not to feed him?how to train him etc...Now i give him cow's milk and rice with curd or yoghurt and occasionally fish....is it okay to feed him like this???...pls answer.....

Hi, good for you for taking care of the little one. But he needs kitten food to help him get the right nutrients!!! The is an amino acids called taurine that he must have to prevent him from going blind!! This is an essential ingredient in all commercial cat food. You can give him the other things you are giving him also but he must have a cat food containing TAURINE. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Give them cooked rice with either meat, chicken, fish or eggs. The rice is for filling their tummy's and the meat chicken fish and eggs are for protein. Cheese is also good in moderation. Keep away from milk. It causes diarrhea in cats. Cats are carnivores. They need meat products to survive. You can order cat food on the Internet. I don't know if they ship to India though. Larger towns should sell cat food. If you can get to a larger town, you can buy a 10 pound bag and it will last a few months. If you can get the cat spayed, please do. She doesn't need to make more babies.

Chocolate is toxic to both cats and dogs. Never give them any chocolate. It could kill them. Goats milk isn't as bad as cows milk. It has less lactose in in it. Cats become lactose intolerant as they grow up.

For me the best food that you can give to your cat is fish.If it possible please feed him a kitty food if he is still a kitty. The packed kitty food like Royal Canin can give the nutrients his body needed. Also you need to deworm your cat when he reach in three months. It is better to bring the kitty to the veterinarian so that you can get the best advice.
