I have been out of a job since November of 2008, others have been out of work a lot longer that. The Unemployment rate is skyrocketing at an all time high since 1974. What is the government going to do to help with this. How are people going to find work in a world where jobs are given to people in other countries due to outsourcing. What can be done?

They say this bailout is going to create all sorts of jobs but I don't think it is that easy. People who got laid off in Minnesota from a Tech job aren't going to go to Arkansas to start building a bridge or road. Until the credit mess is fixed companies are not going to start hiring. Right now people are saving nit spending so demand is down which means people lose their jobs. Plus like you said we out source a lot because it is cheaper to make the stuff in other countries. Until we get our trade deficit worked out, demand better quality, and have other countries stop manipulating the currency in their favor we are going to continue to suffer I am afraid.

I agree with your statements that people are not going to move to another place to start over, especially if things are bad all over. Part of me thought about moving to South Carolina a few years ago because a family member is down there. She told me that things are the same down there and everywhere else. I don't see how these things can be fixed unless people who are receiving these exorbitant salaries would be told that they need to have a cut in pay. Which we know won't happen... On the other hand, what can they do...the government can't force companies to hire people. I am truly terrified of what is going to happen, I am in one of the most competitive job markets "Administrative/Clerical" and there are so many of us. They would rather hire someone new who has less experience and asks for a smaller salary that someone like me who has 12 yrs. experience. It is frightening to think what might or might not be around the corner.
