LCD Monitor Screen Burn

Just last night, I noticed two faint horizontal lines on my monitor. I discovered it was screen burn from the task bar in Firefox, just above where the Tabs are. I'm no expert but I thought LCD displays were not supposed to suffer the problem of screen burn. If anyone has experienced the same problem, let me know. Is there any fix for this type of screen burn on an LCD display ? Any help at all would be be appreciated. Thanks.

Oh no that is horrible, today my new lcd is being delivered to me. Is your warranty still good maybe they can help. I have read complaints from people who have had similar experiences. What type of LCD do you have, I just bought a samsung?

Its a generic 22" widescreen that came with my Dell system. Unfotunalty the warranty has expired. Its not that old either, I just thought the newer generation of LCD monitors were free from this problem.
