i have always been drawn to programming from the day we took it at school where we took quick baaic which is ancient and as the name implies pretty easy and i wanted more so i started reading about python but it isn't as mainstream as other languages even thought it has tols to connect it with them. And there are so many choices so which one is the best to start with?

I would recommend you to learn C as a starting point. Once, you more or less understand C, it will be easy to learn more advance programming language such as C++, Java, or C#. These are widely used programming languages nowadays. Many applications are created in these language. C is also a good starting point if you want to learn a lower-level programming language that interact with hardware.

I hate command line tools. Linux is usually in need of them, but I can't stand typing commands to do simple stuff like copying files or unzipping.
