How do you react when someone gives you a gift basket?

I've seen a ton of beautiful gift baskets online, and I've thought about sending them. However, the packages of snacks sound awfully small. I also saw a fancy gift basket my niece received, and those packages had about 6 bites in them. Have you had this experience, or have you gotten baskets that you were really impressed with? I'd really like to know where they were from. Please share.

Did you get a lot of fruit or was it just a little in a big basket full of stuffing? I appreciate your response!

I think it was about 6-8 pears and the rest, stuffing to keep it from rolling around the basket.

I think the best gift baskets are ones you make yourself. It takes a little more time, since you will have to go out and shop for everything yourself, but the gift is much more personalized and you have control of exactly what goes into it! It is often a lot cheaper to make them on your own too - we were able to give three beautiful gift baskets that everyone loved for the holidays for the cost of just 1 gift basket!

That's kind of what I've thought, but then I thought that maybe there were some sites that actually offered you good values for the money. Thanks for the response!
