Hiya folks, we all got cooked yesterday, it was the hootest day for Melbourne Australia on record. There were also huge fires in the bush to the North that killed 35 people so far. The fires were traveling faster than people could get away, some cars were overtaken and the people were incinerated. Radiant heat caused trees to explode or burst in flames jumping from one to the other racing up hillsides. A couple of towns have been obliterated. We had 3 days over 42C in a row, then yesterday happened. The hottest I have ever experienced was 51C (124F), that was at Coober Pedy in S.A. I had to wrap a wet towel around my face, the air was burning my nose.

Hiya, thanks, the rain has arrived, it's helping a lot with keeping the fires down, they are still fighting them though. Crazy weather alright, yesterday 47, today 23 and raining. I can't imagine those cold temperatures, my uncle lives in Scotland and reports that he has been having to dig his car out of the snow. 50 below sounds like very dangerous weather, I wouldn't want to get caught out in that.

hi vk! oh wow! that is hoooottt! our highest in the philippines is i think 33 degress in most parts and we are already frying. well, i guess you all have air conditioners in australia and most have cars. but in the philippines where public transport only has roof over our heads, the heat is really tough to handle. no wonder people flock to the malls at these times. but even the mall airconditioning is not enough when people go there to seek refuge from the heat. take care and God bless you! happy mylottig! :D
