How much is human life really worth these days?

Lets be honest with ourselves for a little. Of course most of us would say that there is hardly anything more important then human life , but if we look at 3rd world countries we can see the inequality and how meaningless human life can be. I look at it this way. Living in a country is like paying for a product. You pay tax and the country takes care of you as well as it can to keep you there so that you pay even more tax to sustain the country and the people in it(there is a service and a charge). In the 3rd world people don't even pay tax as they can't. So their country doesn't take care of them only the rich take care of themselves. If you look at it that way human life is only worth the money it can produce. Please share you views....

I would say Human price is "PRICELESS"... no one can quote a price on human , because , we never know when even a cheap underated person can really come up in his life. You can look back at the history of many famous person, we see that some of them were worthless initially, but later in life they came up real good in life and are now ,inflencing people in a big way. To sum it up ,everyone are like COAL , only after tremendous pressure and heat A COAL turns itself into a diamond . Cheers! Vishwas

Humanity seems to value other life forms, trees, plants and animals above humanity. Case in point being aborting babies which are a gift from God. I don't thing a lot of people value a human life. They are too selfish to care.

I myself live in a third world country (actually the more politically correct term is developing country) and more often than not we are fed up by those who take advantage of the people. Whether it be the government, big companies etc. However in this country although we view money is important, we don't make it the center of our lives. It's still the goodness in each one that truly measures up a person, not the amount he makes.

Life is cheap. Oil, gold, water and food, that is expensive. To those in the developing countries I sympathize with your plight, but if your government and fellow countrymen do not value your life, why should I? I have my own problems looking after my own life and those around me.

It's really saddening. You cannot really put a price tag on a human life that is my opinion. It's not only third world countries that contributes to human abuse. We see it everywhere. Some countries spent billions on war and sent their troops to battles and yet their leaders sit comfortably while their soldiers and their families suffer. I mean its okay to die for our country. But to kill for it is another story. All lives are precious. I wish I wake up one day wherein there will be no wars and abuse to humanities.

hey there.....well according to me human life is priceless....there's nothing more important than human life....the earth is just a vehicle and we are the ones who drive....and looking at the 3rd world countries we can say that the inequalities arise due to the materialistic people.....and the people whose main motive is self gain.....another reason for the inequalities is the racial and other sorts of discriminations.....the people are becoming more and more selfish and think of their self interests....the gap between the rich and the poor is constantly widening.....the situation is just getting out f control....and can only be mended if the minds of the people is set to the right place....

I don't think anyone is worth any less or more than anyone else. Each of our lives is priceless and any one of us has the potential to do anything!

I am just watching a show on TV where people debate about what is important in today's life?Is it thinking through the mind or being considerate and passionate towards fellow humans and creatures. From what the people are speaking on the show it seems that there is more focus on survival and doing whatever it takes for it.So these people were talking about how caring for fellow humans is just a waste of one's time and instead one should be selfish and think about one's own survival.Even my day to day experiences in my city point to the fact that today man is becoming more and more selfish and is concerned just about his life and cares nothing about others.Sad but true!!!There are people on the nicer side too but their numbers seem to be dwindling. As for my opinion I feel that human life is precious and we need to be considerate of our fellow earthlings too.

you are right to one extent my friend but different people have different views. humans are not exactly helpful by nature, they are selfish and want more and more. there is very little chance of us caring about poor people even if we had all the money in the world. For every person their life is the world but for the world a mans life is nothing. even with all the joy in the world we want something more,if we had nothing, even then we want something more. You have made a very nice point...a humans life is worth the money it can produce. But that is talking in the global view.you have to stop at some point and think that there are some people watching over you, some people who love you,for them you are everything.so we have to always do good things in life because you only get what you deserve and what you deserve is decided by the good you do in life. There are people in Afghanistan,Iraq and countries like that.they are in hell.comparing our lives to theirs,we cant even imagine how lucky we are to be in a independent position.but we still complain about it. We are not perfect but let us all work towards a better tomorrow,if not great work we can always try and start by helping.

I agree with you, humans are becoming so selfish and If they are good, rich and happy they ignore other human beings. It is true that the government helps you so you can pay taxes and contribute to the country development. In third countries people are dying without food and other rich people are rich and wealthy why this world is so unfair?

I am not sure what human life is all about. We change alot everyday. Some choose to live some choose to die. You are not god but still protect human life. I am a lazy person and humans fight amongst themselves. Yea money seems to be power cause it can buy anything. Nothing is ever free, we have to pay taxes just to live. I just wish everything was simple. Free to do anything except disturbing the peace. Life is precious if you were to look at it.

So many people die every day in these countries, and in ours... And these people are mothers and fathers and sister and brothers and sons and daughters, just like us... It's kind of scary...
