Breast feeding in public

I recently read that in New York some mothers were okay with feeding the baby openly, citing that they dont eat with a sheet over their heads! What kinda logic is that? They are feeding the baby from an object of attention, that does not even compare to others eating regular food without a sheet on their heads! Sometimes the logic people use surprises me!
