Do you use TiVo or a DVR?

When we arranged to have direct TV installed at our new place, there was a promotion offered that included a DVR. Normally I don't watch much TV, and didn't expect to get much use from the DVR either. After figuring out how to use it, I LOVE it. I set it to record my favorite shows, watch them when I have time and fast forward through the commercials. Now whenever I have free time, which isn't often, there is something I want to watch and I never have to sit through another commercial trying to sell me junk I don't need. I also record my son's favorite shows & fast forward through commercials with him too. Now he doesn't constantly badger me to buy him junk he doesn't need. Do you have TiVo or a DVR? Do you just love it too?

isn't it great, you can be out all day and come back and blaze thru commercials, especially those 5 minute ones 1/2 way thru the show

Hello my name is Sarah and I am addicted to DVR. It is great. Not only can you record your favorite shows but you can pause and rewing live t.v. Now I don't have to wait to go to the kitchen or to the bathroom. If I miss anything, I can just rewind. I also have On Demand. With it, you choose a movie or show and it plays like a VCR tape. And you have 24 hours to watch the show. One of my favorite shows is the L Word. Well it's last season is so messed up that instead of seeing it live , I am ordering it On Demand and fast forwarding over the scenes I don't want to see.

No, not quite. To reord shows I still use a VCR. I don't burn CDs with this computer either. Instead, I go on project playlist, make a playlist of a bunch of songs I like. I get a cord with a headphone jack on one end and RCA cords on the other. The RCA cords go to my stereo, which has a cassette deck. I've made three tapes of great songs.
