Anyone laid off as a result fo the recent recession?

Well, No one I know has been laid off yet, but my dad has a job right now but that's only for like a month or something so he's not sure what he's going to next and my mom is jobless. I've asked a few places for a part time job but all have said they are not taking anyone on and one place says they are dropping people and not recruiting until may so if I'm lucky i could ask in may for a summer job but doubtful, i'm 17 and I havn't had a part time job yet and I think it's time to get a part time job, but of course tis gonna be tough finding one. Everyone is struggling at this moment because of the recession it sucks but we have to deal with it somehow. Anyways good luck! ! !

Hi.I was lay off about a month ago.I am going back to work Monday with another company.I am a inspector in the oil and gas fields. about 30 of us got laid off due to no work. the people that they kept the field hands toke a 10 percent down pay and the office toke a 15 percent down pay.that was company wide.

I got laid off but more because the holiday season was over and they needed to cut back on the staff. But my dad has been laid off until farther notice. Because of that we could possibly lose our home if he cant find something soon. I think it is a lot of the smaller towns like mine that are getting affected by the recession the most because we rely on manufactoring jobs that are going out of business like 84 Lumber.

I have been fortunate enough to not have been laid off, but a few people on my job in other departments have been effected. It is really sad because some of these people have been on the job over twenty years. I heard that they were offered packages. I just hope it was a good package. Our senior management salaries was frozen so that the other employees could get a raise.
