the face is an important site for the identification of others and conveys significant social information. probably because of the importance of its role in social interaction, psychogical processes invoved in face perception are kown to be present from birth, to be complex, and to involve large and widely distributed areas in the brain. these parts of the brain can be damaged to cause a specific impairment in understanding faces known as prosopagnosia. so we can see that if you have enough social experience, you can partly understand a person from he looks like. of course, this person must be an adult. babies don't create their own face perceptions yet. have you ever try to evaluate somebody just by his face? what do you estimate your ability on face perception?

My father and I usually do this. We rely our first impressions through the face basically. As you said, the face conveys significant information about a person's personality and character. I think I have quite a strict or strong personality just by looking at my face.
