how do you feel..?

This kind of thing has been experienced by me quite a number of times. i don't know if there is a good solution to these type of situation. Sometimes you just have to say why you are not going to give your friend the money. We do not have any obligation to give anybody any money unless it is our children or spouse. Maybe your friend will try to bring up the 'friendship' thing but I think that is the worst thing anyone could do which is to use friendship to get money.

maybe you should've told your girlfriend that you don't have money as well that time. then discreetly give her the money. it seems tacky to say something and not mean it, especially if the person is there to see it firsthand...
