I know it is such a simple topic but in fact, it is so simple that we barely observe this. I like to sit with a glass of water whenever I eat and by the time I finish my meal, I drink at least half a glass of water. Some people say that it is not advisable by doctors and it makes you fatter. But the problem with me is that I just cannot bear thirst. What about you people? Would love to read your replies. Thanks

According Ayurveda, if you feel thirst you should drink water before taking meal. It will be help to minimize you apetite, and that way you can control your weight. Water shoul be taken after half an hour or 1 Hour. Both way are having their own advantage. If you drink water after half an hour, it will be helpful to digest your food. Water taken after 1 Hour give you strength. If you drink water during meal or just after meal, it hamper digestion process and also increases cough. I think this content would be helpful to you. Happy HealthLotting!

Your body needs a minimum of 2 litres of water per day - that is 8 regular glasses. If you can drink more, that is great. Water helps all of your body systems to operate properly - i.e. digestion. Also, if you are working out, you need to drink even more water to replace what you have lost with perspiration. Water does not make you fatter, it helps you to lose weight if you are eating a healthy diet. It helps to "flush" your system.

Doctors recommend you drink water all the time. During meals, after meals.. any time you can. The more water you drink the better you feel. I don't know who would say a doc wouldn't recommend you drink water. You're supposed to drink 8 glass or more of water a day.. plus like 8 glasses of milk..

I couldn't bear the thought of not drinking water between meals...I think I could not swallow my food easily and I'm still a slim person so I won't be bothered by it.

Hell jshekhar, For me I don't think it is not a good thing for us to drink water while eating. At home, when we eat, we always have a pitcher of water prepared with glasses, so when one feel the necessity of drinking water, can drink immediately. But I do observe, some people do drink lots of water while eating. I have a friend who always prepare water, and every after a while she drink water. She said it is her way of dieting. Lots of water would help a person to be slim. But I asked myself if I could drink lots of water while eating. I am not used to it. Happy mylotting!

Anyone who tells you drinking water will make you fat is an idiot. Why would anyone even believe or suggest such a thing? Drinking more water actually helps you LOSE weight if you wish. It also keeps our organs, skin and body functioning properly. I've had 6 large glasses of water today, in addition to my two cans of diet pop I allow myself. I've always got a large glass of water, or bottled water if I'm out near me. And yes, any doctor you talk to will tell you we don't drink enough water and need to try and drink more.

I carry a 750ml bottle of water with me almost always and constantly fill it up. I do not think it makes you fatter. it comes right back out again if anything it helps flush your system and its especially good when you start feeling sick

You should drink atleast 3litres of water everyday, but that doesn't mean you drink between your meal and of course its not advisable by doctors since you wont be able to digest your meal , you can have a little during your meal but you should take water after an hour of you meal, I hope this will help you

Well, i am also as you. I always have a glass of water beside my meals. But yes, it is not advisable to drink and eat at the same time. What can you do is that to drink only after you finish your meals. That's what i'm doing now.

Yup, I drink a lot of water everyday and also eat many fruits, apple especially. I can't have anything in the morning before drinking a mug of water. It's good in every aspects, eg. digestion, skin. Hot water is better than cold one and actually it can heal some light illness, like cold, sore throat and fever. Drink more, lol.

I love drinking water. Whether in between meals or any time of the day. I always try to drink water as much as i could possibly do.Water replenishes fluids that are removed from the body.It also cleanses our excretory system.

I dont think doctors would have said that.It might be an age old saying if you drink water you cant eat full.Therz nothing other tahn that.Defenitely I drink water while taking meals , before , during or after if I feel the necessity. In between meals if you feel spicy you defenitely think of drinking water. The moe you drink water the more your health is good.

I will drink and it also advisable(?) to not to follow doctors advice in such things. You think of tea and coffee. What the doctors are saying about them?Whether it is good or bad to our health? Can we get the same advice from at least 2 doctors? That too,are they stand in their position for at least 6 months?
