Is it just a dream or it means something else?

There are so many theories to dreams that really it just comes down to personal beliefs or ideas concerning the meaning behind dreams, if there is any. A sentence that you said was kind of intriguing though. "The truth is we have a complicated relationship right now and I just don't want to think about it anymore." One of the theories of dreams is that they occur as a way for the human mind to sort out problems, and your dream seems like it could be an example of that theory. This is where the idea behind the phrase, "to sleep on it," comes from. Perhaps problems in your life are being reflected in your dreams. And just because in your dream the two of you broke up, it doesn't necessarily mean that that is what your mind might be telling you to do. It could be referring to the breaking off of something between the two of you, but it manifested itself in your dream as the entire relationship. Who really knows?
