Do I really need a convection oven to make delicious baked tofu?

I don't have the money for a new oven, and my oven doesn't have a convection setting. Whenever I make baked tofu it ends up not dry enough. When it comes to tofu, the firmer, the better! Baked tofu can be way more delicious than fried tofu....What do you think? Have any tips? Any favorite baked tofu recipes?
