In Malta there is a company that gets blood cells from the cord after you gave birth, they freeze the blood cells send them abroad and leave it there in case some serious illness effects your family, these blood cells can really save our family lifes. However everything is expensive and it you don't have money you cannot do it, is it fair?

it`s not so expensive. In my country it`s the same, you can freeze your blood cells from the time you`re geting life, but it`s not so expensive, it`s something like 200 euros / year, as i know. But i`m not 100% sure of that, but it`s not so expensive. I know that you can use thouse cells to solve some big healthy problems.

it is true that these stem cells can greatly help in solving future health problems that may arise in the family. for one, if we were among those who have been beneficiary to this, health problems involving my youngest child would have been easily dealt with. he is suffering from some bone marrow abnormalities which has arisen to his leukemic condition. we know now that leukemia is one of those health conditions which can readily be addressed by stem cell use.

it is fair, gaucii. we know that the process is expensive to follow and observe. how else will they be able to sustain their activities without appropriate funding? you will agree that this step is not that necessary to be undertaken. let the rich ones observe this procedure because, they are the ones who can afford to finance it. after all, they are only doing this in the hope that they will find the need for those blood cells some day. most probably, the need will not arise. most probably also, for us who cannot afford it, the need wll not arise, too. thus, what difference does it make if we cannot avail of this new outbreak in health? so now we say, that this is among those instances wherein we can say that, there is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
