Awesome Cake Recipe

Hi everyone! I made this awesome cake for my son's 9th birthday and I wanted to share it with everyone. The frosting on this cake is not real sweet, the cake stayed moist even after I left it out all night uncovered, and it actually tasted better the 2nd day than it did baked fresh! However, this is a recipe that is not meant for someone who absolutely hates doing dishes or doesn't like recipes that are more involved. There was a bit of messing around with it. Make sure you take the cake out of the pans before they are completely cooled or else they tend to stick. From now on when I make this cake I will make it the day before because I thought it tasted better the 2nd day. Here's the recipe: Rainbow Cake Bake at 350 degrees, in greased and floured 9 inch round pans, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 2 boxes of white or yellow cake mix 4 cups diet sprite, gingerale, lemon-lime, or mountain dew soda food coloring (red, green, yellow, blue) 4 boxes sugar free vanilla pudding 3 - 8oz tubs cool whip (store brand works just as good) Mix the cake mix and soda together in large bowl. In seperate bowls create the colors of a rainbow using about 1 1/2c mixed cake and food coloring. I used seven colors. Starting in center of cake pans put about 3 Tablespoons of batter in pans. Change colors and place about 3 Tablespoons of your next color directly on top of your starting color. Repeat with remaining colors. Start back at the beginning and continue with your colors until all the batter is in the pans. Bake at 350 degrees until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. About 30 - 40 minutes depending on your oven. For the frosting combine the cool whip and the pudding. If it seems too thick add a little milk to thin it out a bit. Frost your cake. Happy baking!
