good voice teacher

All of us are craving to be a good singer. So others went to studio for a voice lesson. But the question is, how to choose a good voice teacher? Is professionalism an important requirement as a voice teacher? Amateur singers teach voice the way how they learned the techniques. Professional who studied music scientifically considers the physiological, psychological and pedagogical aspectof learning to handle the voise training. The disadvantage of studying with an amateur singer is the student might create a bad habit that would lead him to deterioration of singing. So whats your stand on this?

This is true. You really need a good teacher to achieve a good voice. But it does not necessarily mean that all amateur singers are bad voice lesson teachers. There are amateur singers who learned from great teachers or who have learned the right techniques based on what they read and experienced and in return can be good teachers. I think the best way to evaluate a good teacher, whether amateur or professional, is to hear their students. If the students improved and are not hurting their vocal chords, then I think the teacher is great.
