So Valentine's Day has come and gone and since I got a very untraditional Valentine's Day gift this year, I thought I would open this up to see what other strange gifts emerged? Not to leave you wondering, I'll go ahead and tell you what I got! We recently moved to a new house that was built in 1860. Needless to say my wall decor from our other house didn't exactly go with the style or period of the house, so when I saw some nice prints on Craig's list Friday and found out they were still available, I told my husband to forget the flowers (if that was what he was planning) because I found some prints that I really wanted and they were at a great price due to a divorce. So Saturday we went to take a look at them (they were out of town and a 2 hour drive) and they were in perfect condition. So I have 3 new pieces for the wall! One is a huge original magnolia print that I put in our dining room. The other two are plantation homes in Louisiana. One is San Francisco and the other is Houmas House. I placed these in the den/living room. Everything fits well and they all look awesome. I think this was a great Valentine's Day present and something that will last forever! So did you get something outside the box of the regular card, perfume, flowers or candy?

I never get anything from my husband but that's the way it is. The prints sound so good I will keep checking as I'd love to see photos. Good for you I am happy for you!!! I bet your home is very well built, that's back when wood was real good wood.

I didn't think about putting a photo up. Maybe I'll do that when I get home, snap a couple of shots :) Yes, the house is pretty solid. It's build out of cypress and cedar. All of the closets are cedar lined but small!
