Do you think that it is ok for health insurance to be a profit making business? It is currently a profit making business in the U.S. Many people are turned down for treatments, due to insurnace companies denying them coverage. Medical bills are the #1 reason for bancruptcy in the U.S. If they are profit making would that mean that profit is their main priority and the health/lives of the people would be secondary? If they had health/lives as their main priority and covered almost all test and treatments people needed, could they still profit in any way? What do you think?

its a billion dollar industry and sadly once we got them started, with the advent of HMO's then there is no stopping them. we cannot stop them from running their Political Action committeees and stopping any legislation from proceeding that they disagree with. its a horrible catch 22, americans are so scared of health care refor, such as universal coverage that is so popular in other countries. they think that will lead to a socialist country and they are afraid to lose their democratic heart beat. i have to pay 100 a month for my insurance, which SUCKS but at least i can afford it.
