Dolphins as house pets.

If you have a large yard and a water source, what's so bad about having a friendly dolphin as a pet. They bring joy and wonders to your children's imagination. I have researched and found out that when children are around dolphins they get into better colleges. Post what you think

Hi. skatermusicians. Welcome to myLot! I am not so sure if having dolphins as a house pet would be something that is right for a back yard. I believe that dolphins should be able to live in the sea. This is the type of water that their dolphin bodies are used to. They should be enclosed into an area that will allow them to swim and move around in the water. Having a dolphin in the back yard may not be such a good thing. I also have never heard that children get into a better college when they are around dolphins. I do admit that dolphins do have a very positive aurora around children though. Dolphins bring great happiness around people.

Hello. I personally would not wish to have a dolphin in a private location as a pet. I am even opposed against aquariums. Dolphins are meant to be free and wild, not to be kept in a small pool as a pet or do tricks just to entertain humans.... So no, I would not have a dolphin as a pet.

That just seems really cruel to do to a sea animal, especially a dolphin. Dolphins are so smart, and to take it and put it in your back yard seems like such a horrible thing to do to such an intelligent creature, it is like you are downplaying it's intelligence. If I was a dolphin and was in a small pool instead of the big ocean, being pet by children constantly, I would be the most depressed thing alive. And what the hell does college have to do with a dolphin, I think if these are studies you found, you found them in the wrong place from the wrong people haha.

Great thinking I wish I had a dolphin around when I was a kid.

Really? i didn't know they could be pets. I personally wouldn't keep one as a pet, although i love dolphins because they belong in the sea really, with other sea creatures.

I don't think it is recommended to have dolphins for pets.they look better seeing them swimming in the vast open sea.it looks beautiful seeing them swimming in groups in the open sea, with the setting sun on the background.they may be smart creatures, but they are not meant to be as pets.

Seriously? Did you really find this fact via research? Put yourself in the dolphin's shoes, would you like to be contained in a back yard versus the vast ocean, with no one who understands you anywhere around?

I think it would be a shame to keep a dolphin confined to such a small area. It would be pretty selfish to take them out of the wild for one's own sense of wanting it as a pet. I like dolphins but I wouldn't want to keep one captive.
