What do you think will make the world a better place- religion or spirituality?

Religions have failed to bring forth a better world. Religions have rather instilled in us fear and guilt. Although every religion might have some spiritual aspects embedded in it, the bulk of religion rests on beliefs that cannot be proved- at least not while we are alive, fear and guilt, and ego saying that ours is the best religion, especially in the case of monotheistic religions. Do you feel that if man takes only the spiritual aspects and forgets the rest of the religion, this world could be a better, more humane place?

Religion has nothing to do with spirituality. A religious person can never ever be spiritual, he/she can only be stupid, and in spite of being stupid, religious people think they know everything and that everybody who doesn't follow their religion is stupid. Cheers and happy Mylotting

I think that spirituality will make the better place but if you really think about it religion and spirituality are basically the same thing. Both of them are trying to bring you into contact with a higher power or trying to make your life better or give you answers to all the questions that are constantly littering your mind. Religion is basically just when you look up to a god and look for them to answer your questions or help you out when you need it. Spirituality may also have a god but spirituality also recognizes that we are each individuals and may be a part of this god that so many people are talking about.
