If I have a cold, I prefer taking in large amounts of fluids to replace the fluids lost during a cold, and to flush impurities that can prey on my system during cold attacks. I take herbs and teas too, certain herbs and teas contain special properties that are natural antagonists against colds. Like garlic, this has antibiotic effects, can actually kill germs and clear up your cold symptoms more rapidly. Licorice root tea, is also good, has an anesthetizing effect that soothes irritated throats and relieves coughs. For a good night sleep, brew a cup of hops or valarian herb teas, which have a natural traquilizing effect. Sometimes I take cold medications too prescribed by a physician, usually I take them at night, to reduce its effects of drowsiness or sleepiness when taking them.

Hi ank. I always take cold items before sleep. It is better to do this because you will be in the bed for at least 8 hours. I like the most to take a lemon tea with garlic. It is wonderful for cold but you need to stay in the bed some hours and keep your self warmed. You can take this tea with some remedy too. Cheers and wish you fell better soon.
